Need some advice please.
Hello, i am in hope that someone will be able to offer me some advice.
My family and i have PNP status which we received in June 09, and we put in our PR application in September 09. My husband unfortunately broke his arm and leg in June so we were unable to go out to Canada, so decided to put in PR from the UK, until my husband had recovered enough to start work again. So we have now been called for medicals, and our immigration consultant say's it would be better to get the medicals done in Canada, and be working the job. So we thought that we could come out straight away, but now his prospective employer in Pemberton has gone quiet on us, no reply to emails, no taking our calls, and we think it is because his work has gone quiet at this time of year. Now my husband has been offered another better job in Dawson's creek, but our immigration consultant say's we can't use the work permits we could get from out PNP on another job. So the questions i have our: Is there any way around getting work permits for the new job offer? With regards to getting the medicals done, does anyone know roughly how long it would take to get the application approved or declined after that? And is it true if you get the medicals done in Canada and are working the job, you would stand more chance of getting the application approved? Sorry for so many questions, but this has been such a long process for us, we just want to make sure this doesn't fall through right at the last hurdle!! Thank you in advance for any help given. :) |

I'm sorry but that cannot be ignored. I didn't even realise that it was a real place.

Re: Need some advice please.
Well you still have the river kids running around, should make for quite an interesting living environment, with sexy results. ;)

You say you have PNP status but are applying for PR? Do you mean that or do you mean you have Temporary Work Permits and are applying for PR?

I mean we received pnp status last June and put in for PR in September. We can get work permits and come out to Canada anytime because we have pnp status. But my question was can the work permits be transfered onto a different job?

Re: Need some advice please.
I would have thought that you would be fine as long as you are not seeking work in a different province to your pnp.

Usually, PNP work permits are open work permits anyway - meaning they are not tied to a specific job. Do you already have work permits issued?
Our immigration consultant shadi Norman say's we would have to start the whole pnp process again if we changed jobs and a whole new of application which I just can't beieve is correct! |

No we don't have work permits issued yet, apparently we can get them at the airport when we arrive in Canada. Good old Dawson's creek is still in Bc.

Re: Need some advice please.
If the BCPNP is tied to your employer and they are the ones that applied for it then i am afraid that the new employer would have to apply for PNP for you.
i would say do the medicals in the uk, then within a couple of months you will have PR and be able to come here with no ties to an employer........ i dont see why they have said dont do medicals in the uk, i know loads of expats that have done medicals in the uk and have PR now........... if you have a medical condition that will show up, doesnt matter if you are in the uk or not...................... good luck |

Hi
No they are not, they are limited to the company that nominated the applicant. |
