NAMING & SHAMING 2

I help with employment & resettlement I just wanted to mention that a while ago I read on this forum about naming & shaming consultants etc.

I can tell you that I would love to name & shame those people that have used and abused my service that use this forum.

I have developed a fantastic service for people I help with employment & resettlement but am getting fed up with the users & abusers no wonder these recruitment people treat people the way they do.

When I first started out I had to charge 2 thousand pounds this might sound alot but when you take into consideration this amount is to cover services for many months .

I had a letter telling me that my service was far to expensive I appreciated this feedback and new that I had to work it where I got fees from elsewhere & not the client because as I well know it costs a fortune to get to Canada.

Meanwhile I revamped my service and now charge 450.00 pounds for resettlement and a possible job offer, and get my fees through referrals from such as realtors etc.

I am writing because I provide a very good service I enjoy helping others, I am sincere but most of all I am an honest person, I have fantastic testimonials I don't deserve to be robbed of my fees, the people I speak of I even got them job offers.

So I ask that please if anyone decides to use resettlement help be fair & pay them or pay a deposit so this way you will tell in the early days of if your going to get the service you require, don't bother trying to weadle information from people with no intention of using their services, not all of us are rip off merchants I need to earn a living.

I don't want to offend the majority of decent people but these things have got to be said.

I think you may be confused. The "Name and Shame" post wasn't in this forum, it was in the immigration forum, and it wasn't attacking recruitment consultants, but immigration consultants.

Thanks for that - Over the past years I often read how bad recruitment or immigration consultants can be and its just such a shame, I know there are some brilliant companies out there.

I was the one who started the "Name them and Shame them" thread. I can confirm that I was referring to bad (or good) Immigration Consultants and lawyers and was in no way including recruitment consultants in this subject.

What exactly do you do? Im not understanding how people use and abuse? Do you mean they receive lots of valuable information before deciding whether to hire you? If so, do you not inform those people that you can only answer certain questions or give help and information once they become your client? Am i missing something here?

I'm with you on this one Patsy.
If people can get the information they need from you without having to pay the £450 fee doesn't that make sense? Sure you don't make the money from them directly but it certainly doesn't hurt your reputation. I also think its a sign of the times....a bit like checking out the merchandise in the store and ordering it online because it will save you 50$.

I offer accommodation & resettlement services but I also help people to find employment to be honest it is my fault we do have guidelines to follow I should have waited for the deposits to come through first before giving employer details out, I like to be fair with people and therefore I expect the same in return I don't think the amount requested is a lot for the service provided but when people feel that they have to resort to this its just a shame as I feel that because of people like this services like mine will disappear and all that will be left will be large expensive companies.

Seems like a good deal to me, especially if the only time you have been to Canada is for a holiday. It's good to see people offering their services to help others get started in their new adventure...A pity that you've had your fingers burnt.
Good luck

I hate to say this but I don't think you can trust anybody these days. Like you said - it was probably your fault for being too trusting and telling people too much before you had their money cashed and in your bank!!

On a totally different subject - what about this crappy weather??? I hope its not going to be a repeat of last year. I just about froze last night at my granddaughter's soccer game. I must have looked like an idiot in my winter parka with the hood tied so blasted tight I could hardly see out!

I totally agree with you about the weather it has been crappy recently I can see out of the window that the sun is shining lets hope it continues.
Good to hear from you again.
