I was wondering if there are any pitfalls moving to uk 5 months of the year from Canada , ie winter in uk summer in Canada

You won't be eligible for the NHS as you are a visitor, so will need private health insurance. |

If you're planning on splitting your time close to 50:50, you should check where it is cheaper to be resident/ tax resident, and split your time to your best advantage.
There are numerous possible differences, including cost of healthcare, availability of travel insurance, which is going to get exponentially higher as you get older, where you want to eventually settle when you get too old to (want to) travel back and forth, where your family are settled, and whether inflation increases on your UK state pension are important to you. |
