Moving Possibly to Moncton
After having been here in Alberta for a year and a half we are now considerring a move to New Brunswick specifically Moncton. However having never been further than Waterton or Banff I was wondering if you could give us an idea what it is like there?
Weather wise, cost of living, prosperity and entertainment? Any help you can provide would be great. Many Thanks Alli:D |

Re: Moving Possibly to Moncton
We're currently moving to Moncton, for work, and so far prefer it to Halifax. The positives, for us, are the improved accessibility to other places (PEI, US, other parts of Canada), snowmobiling from the door, and not having to commute downtown and pay for parking.
The negatives are the volume of snow, although they deal with it pretty well, and the size of the house lots / yards (very small). Suggest you visit before committing to a move as each person has different requirements.... |
Re: Moving Possibly to Moncton
I can't offer you any first hand information on Moncton however here are two links to the 30 year averages (1971-2000) for weather in both Moncton and High River.
You can compare them yourself.;) Climate Normals 1971-2000 High River Climate Normals 1971-2000 Moncton On average Moncton gets approximately 2.5 times more rain and 2 times more snow than High River. |

Small lots/yards? Downtown yes, but not too far out and many are double lots or bigger. Plenty around the hospital. |
