Moving to Ottawa on an IEC Visa
Hi there
I am 26 and moving to Ottawa in January 2020 on an IEC visa.
My intention is to book an AirBnB for the first couple of months whilst trying to secure a job that will get me started. I do eventually want to work in Conveyancing which is what I do in the UK at the moment, but understand it make take some time before obtaining a position within that field of work.
I will look to apply for PR once I have done a full working year that is relevant to my NOC code.
I don't know whether I am coming un-prepared, but saying that i don't really feel you can put a plan in in place if you do not already have a job lined up before moving i.e you cant plan the area you want to stay/rent, do I need a car etc etc?
This is my first post so any advice/recommendations from anyone who has been in a similar situation would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to BE!
Exciting times ahead!
You could also look into 'homestay' - where you have your own room in a family home (meals are usually optional) .. they tend to be cheaper than Air BnB so might suit you while you get settled.

With regards to conveyancing, you might want to check into what the requirements will be to work in that profession: https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/marketrepo...ts/16043/22409 and https://lso.ca/becoming-licensed/par...gal-in-ontario ...for jobs: https://ca.indeed.com/Conveyancer-Cl...c19fe467237f4b - you might have to consider going down the 'real estate assistant' route to start with: https://ca.indeed.com/jobs?q=Real+es...l=Ottawa%2C+ON
