Commute on or in what?

Train? Then anywhere east or west is good.

Car? Not so good

Bus? Take the train

On foot? See above

East side it's less expensive the further east u go, Oshawa being the least $$

An average 3 bed detached, garage drive 2 wash rooms will cost approx $315,000 in Ajax.

If I had to work in the GTA then I would probably end up in Uxbridge or Port Perry, and live with the drive.

I'm opposite, the furthest I would go east for a commute in a car is Ajax, the 401 narrows from 8 lanes down to 4 after Westney. Rush hour is a mare after that, and in summer !!!! Ha ha good luck going any further east of Salem at 5pm. Cottage traffic is at its peak

Not sure how it works west bound Iaink, but 403 and 427 has more than its fair share of traffic accidents

Hi

You dont say where you are expecting to get a job - outside of the GTA, Port Perry was our original destination but I got a job in Peterborough. Peterborough is ok as a city but the surrounding areas are cheap to get some really nice houses. It's good place for kids to grow up , but the area is quite rural. I liked Kingston very much - not sure of the job market there.
