I would like to find out whether the bridging course and nexclex can be done in UK?

And can you finish all the process in the UK before moving to Canada?

How is the process for the NMC ?

For those who did the top up degree in nursing did you have to do two transcripts diploma and bachelor transcripts?

Thank you for taking time to respond. I am in the process at the moment. I just dont know how/ where to start ?

For those who have settle in Canada, do you regret or it's the best thing you ever did ? Is it worth it?

Hi Loria,

I'm in a similar situation to you, i'm just investigating a move to Canada at the moment. I'd originally applied to the US but as an adult trained nurse I was deficient in the usual hours, however I couldn't find anywhere there to help make up the hours. At least with Canada there is the option to do this.

I don't think there are any bridging courses in the UK. King's College London were offering a gateway to North America course for nurses but they have now stopped running it. They only ran it for 2 years, either it wasn't financially viable for them or perhaps the hospitals where you would do placements weren't keen on organising placements. I think the best bet is to do a bridging course in Canada.

I'd be interested in finding out which province is the best to apply to for bridging programmes and what other British trained nurses' experiences have been. I haven't submitted my NNAS form but i'd like to know if some provinces make you to do a whole year's bridging programme and if others are a bit more lenient and allow you to just make up the courses you are missing i.e. maternal/child and psych.

Thanks for taking time to get back time. Same here I was thinking of USA but kings college course was too expensive for me at that time. Yeah it will be nice if someone could answer to any of our questions : best province and bridging course. I will hopefully submit my NNAS soon and see what they said.

My only concerns is if we to do the course in Canada
Canada that mean time off work or annual leave for that period .

This is a distance uni. I know people that completed their B Nursing through them. Not sure of what the requirements are for international applicants though.
