Hello,

I would be relocating to Calgary from UK in coming summers through an internal transfer in my company.

What are the steps I need to do to sort out my taxes here with HMRC and Canada CRA?

Do I need to tell HMRC about my closure here?

How can I get the tax refund from me being taxed over past months on the basis of my annual income here which obviously would cease?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think your first step is to look at P85 - that officially tells the HMRC that you’re leaving the UK. It’s a while since I’ve done it so I can’t remember all the details. Things get a bit more complicated if you still own a house in the UK and are looking to rent it out, but if not, I think it’s straightforward.
