Moving - The best way

Hi,

Totally new to to this so please excuse an mistakes!!

My husband and I have decided to emmigrate to Calgary. Something we had always talked about and have now decided to do . Our visa's are in and being processed and it looks like we will move out there in Sept '06.

The question I have is, where did you all leave when you arrived in Canada and what did you sort before you arrived. Things are slightly more complicated as I have just found out we are expecting our first child (due Aug) and we also have a dog. Did you sort out rented before you got there? Did you buy straight away? Hotels are the best option but guess they don't take dogs!

Any ideas, tips or advice would be gratefully recieved as not sure the best way forward.

Thanks everyone

Pugsley

Hi Pugsley,

I don't think that you really have a complicated case, As soon as the little one is born, just submit the necessary paperwork, for family members. I would suggest putting something down in writing with your application, or just send them a letter if your application has already been submitted.

There was also a thread last week about dogs, try searching the archives.

So Off to Calgary (Just for you "Glas") eh? Well if you like Calgary you'll love Cochrane, it's just outside and a wonderful place to go to, look at their website. www.cochrane.ca

We purchased a place around 16 months ago, and we rented it, but it's all down to personal choice. for me I want to be well planned, It's bad enough looking for work, let alone putting roots down and sorting schools out, so for us we bought.

Anyway good luck...soon you'll be on first name terms with the postman.
Regards
and congratulations
