Unhappy Moving a 1/2 tun pickup Truck from British Columbia to Ontario

Long story short...
My stepfather passed away, the truck is a gift, there is no money involved ( I don't know if that matters). My question is, does anyone know of what will need to be done/paid for to transfer the truck from B.C to On. I have not owned a vehicle before. It currently has B.C plates... I will be driving it to On myself. I know I will need to register the vehicle, plates, insurance and what not. I know that because it is an 84 it does not need an emmissions test. So I guess I just need to know if there are any costs I will need to know about, asides from what I have listed, and if I can just drive it here to Ontario and then get everything done?? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Trisha

What evidence do you have to prove you're the legal owner of the vehicle? Did your stepfather sign away the ownership to you before he died? Are you inheriting the truck via his will? Either way Ontario's DMV will require some proof of ownership.

All the vehicles are now in my moms name, so she will sign over the ownership, so I will have complete ownership of the vehicle, and all proof of it...
It is the costs hidden or not that I am unsure of...
