Which movers to use?

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a moving company? I'm headed for Montreal with about 8 large/heavy boxes. When I first lived there as a kid, I think we used Atlas, but has anyone got any praise or know of any companies to steer clear of?

TIA

We used Bishops Move also ... also two items damaged .... well three if you count a mug that broke.

Unfortunately one was my piano which they said they would crate and didn't, and it was badly damaged, and the other was the back of a display cabinet which was stove in!!

The guys here who moved us here in couldn't believe how badly it had been packed!!
No I wouldn't recommend Bishops Move. Morons.

We used Whites.
The house and some furniture in storage was packed in a day and a half - very quick, very professional and, as we discovered when unpacking things, very well packed!

The only complaint I'd have was that they delayed in shipping our stuff so it got here a little later than anticipated, but only by a week or so...which actually worked out fine with regards our moving into a place once we were here.

We would have gone with Robinsons but they misled us about the price - something I've heard others mention on here.

The next choice would have been Britannia.

Seems mighty expensive! I just want to send about 7 boxes, that's it, no furniture, just books, cd's, personal effects, and some dry food items. I don't think I'd need a huge container.

Ian, nice to see I'm not the only one escaping Herts life.

Hi,

We used White & Co 18 months ago and couldn't fault them. Paid £3200 for a 20ft container.

Tia,

I have just used a company called Cargo Bookers. We sent only boxes over and for 35 boxes I was charged £746. I paid £102 insurance with a company Manning UK and I will have to pay about $150 when the items arrive in Calgary. Found them very helpful. There website is www.cargobookers.co.uk

Thanks,

Rob.
