Hi! Lots of people gone to Calgary so you should get plenty of replies!
Judy in Calgary, Butch etc are good sources of information, as long as you have a thick hide! Would be good to know whether you live in the town or the highlands?:p And, are kids, jobs etc issues for you?:p C |

how u experienced a winter yet?[/QUOTE] Yep it was cold. It was also very dry which was nice. SO when its -15 or below it doesn't feel to bad. |

Re: Moved: has anyone immigrated to calgary?
We moved over in January this year. Hubby, wean, cat & me. Arrived on a work permit for a year, though for now, thats another story. Our son who is 13yrs old. Is probably the one out of us all who has settled in the quickest. What has helped, is the school. Which is Midsun Jr High in the area of Sundance. Also that his science/math teacher is originally fae Glasga (albeit he left when he was 4) has just been fantastic support for him. In fact they go off whilst in the class, bethering about the "motherland". Mean while the other kids have not got the foggiest what they are on about.
Hubby is up in Edmonton working, I work also. Though it did take a couple of different jobs for me to settle into my current post. But above all else and the ups & downs. Life is good. I am heading back to Scotland this week, as my mum is 77, and her health is not too great. Just for a week on my own. So it will be an interesting trip, I suppose. Seeing it through different eyes. Any-ho. If there is anything that we can help with. Just ask away. Have to go suitcase to go and look out, and all that. Good luck:thumbsup: |
