Being a vegetarian, I'm by no means an expert on sausage rolls but I have meat-eating friends and family members who have gone completely off pork because of that part-time pig farmer, part-time serial killer in Port Coquitlam who fed his victims to his pigs. Though it was stated by some health advisor that the meat didn't make it into the shops, a lot of people don't have a lot of faith in government officials and the images of the pig farm and the 'what if?s' just put them off pork for good. Sorry to be gross. :o
