Money Transfer
Does anyone know how to transfer money from a Canadian bank account to a UK bank account if you're not in Canada anymore?
We're in the UK and want to transfer our money back to the UK from our RBC account but it seems we can't do it unless we are there in person. Caxton were no help and no one at RBC was any help either. The max we can do with them is $2500 per day. Is there any realistic advice out there? Has anyone done this before? Thanks |

Re: Money Transfer
Thanks for that, did this myself and sadly none of the links help unless we're able to physically go into the bank to release the funds...frustrating

Re: Money Transfer
Have you tried a company like HiFX or Halo? We have relatives who used Halo without any problems. HiFX and Moneycorp also seem to come well recommended.
Hope this helps |
Re: Money Transfer
We have,
We used Caxton to go the other way but they are saying we need to go into the bank to release the funds, which we obviously can't do as we are here in the UK and not in Canada. |
Re: Money Transfer
Depends why you need to release the funds and what sort of account you have them in. If they are in a chequeing account should not be an issue. Any FX broker with a direct debit mandate from you should be able to do it.
If you have the funds locked into something and have to sign documents to get them released you may have to go into the branch. So a short holiday to release the funds may be your only choice. Try calling the branch direct and speak to your account manager. |
