Migration based on experience
Hello all,
I have been looking into the possibility of migrating to Canada, but one thing that lets me down is my education. I left school and then completed my A Levels, but did not go on to obtain a degree. It looks as though this is going to be a real problem if I want to migrate. I have over 10 years experience in the IT industry and have spent the last 5 years full-time programming. Does experience count towards an independent skilled migration, as all of the on-line assessment things I have seen do not really take this into consideration, and I have only obtained a score of about 62 :( |
Re: Migration based on experience
Hi
It sounds like you have a dilema similar to mine, I posted off my application skilled worker to London in Feb, not being sure of what the pass mark would be, I took a chance. Now I know I score 64 points. Have you had your credentials and experience internationally assessed ? its a real eye opener, you think your worth more than you actually are in Canada anyway !! In Britain the experience seems to stand more stead. I have had three applications submitted so far but this time is the last. The last two were to do with the family business scheme. I am already preparing further education You maybe should do the same before applying. Are you in Britain ? Chris |
