Hi
Just wondering if someone can help me with information on my current situation. I apologise if its not in the right bit or been asked before.
I have gone through the NNAS procesd and have my advisory report. My report says 'somewhat comparable' and now I suppose I am waiting to hear from CPRNBC about how to register with them. I have emailed them requesting a pack to register. I wonder how long it could all be, I feel like Ive been waiting forever. I phoned the CPRNBC and asked and all they could say is not too long. Will I have to do any exams for them or will I just get registered? Could I be rejected? Is there any way of me going over as a support worker whilst waiting? I have lots of questions about visas etc but get this answered first. I work in a forensic hospital with adult men
Any tips would be great
Thanks
Laura

I am not sure on time frame for getting pack but it should say on their website but usually you have to sit the Canadian exam to be actually registered in Canada

I was an RGN and now an RN(C) in BC. I came over in 2009 and the process has changed since I made the move.
There are others on here that are at various different stages in the process, and they will come along and advise.
I was granted an interim permit with an end date, and had to pass my CRNE exam beofre that date to fully register. I did work as an RN on the interim permit though, and passed the exam 3 months after moving here.
Good Luck, its worth it ( I think it is anyway!)

Lauraben, is there any update on this? You're actually ahead of some of us in this process, NNAS being so new, not a lot of people have gotten to the end of it! My husband has been trying to get the docs sorted for nearly a year. Grrrr.
My understanding is that as a UK RMN you're likely to be deficient on Medical/Surgical education and hours (as Canadian RMNs do study a bit more of this) but you would be able to do an online bridging course which CPRNBC will likely point you towards. Not sure how much leeway they have though.
