The different drug names and preferred antibiotics and different public health system means I will probably not start thinking about doing this until I've worked in BC for about 6 months.

that was my initial concern too when wanted to do the exam but it is more like final year of medical school test. yes! public health Canada is definitely need to be looked at. mainly 4 -6 weeks of revision of Q bank and reading the explanatory notes was enough to pass. they are more like life case scenarios and MCQs. some questions you have to write down your answers..

I would agree with above comments- it isn't tricky, you could I feel do better than waste money on flights to come over and do it unless you were here for other reasons. Wait a bit and get to know a bit of the system and the Canadian way of things- local knowledge, drug names et can be useful. CanadaQBank has improved and should suffice. You will be fine. Just do it when you are ready. oh, and GoWest, you will be fine too.. Recce trip here soon? Yeh

Thanks for the above comments, will certainly take them on board. My family and I are over this summer too, looking at prospective jobs/ communities so I expect I'll be asking for more wise words in the next couple of months.
Really appreciate your time guys

Both puppies are always happy to meet up and show around any prospective newbies to this area, as long as we are not on holiday!!! We need new GPs- just let us know.
And I echo the above- part 1 is a doddle, even for me- Canadian experience does help so personally would do after arrival as even less work then involved- and I'm lazy!

So the husband used Toronto Notes which can be downloaded for free, don't let the name fool you. He also did one of the practice exams through the mcc website too. He says he really didn't do much studying but I guess he has been qualified donkeys years!!

So good news.. Second part passed with again minimal studying and a newborn in the house😜
