Maxi Taxi in Vancouver
My wife and kids arriving in Vancouver tomorrow
Besides the carry on bags, they have 6 travellers bags and that won't fit in 1 or 2 cars
in Australia there is the Maxi Taxi ( a van taxi)
what is equivalent to that in Vancouver?

Limousine???????????
But yes, at least one taxi firm has a large taxi ........ I hate them because the step up is too high for me!
Maclure's Taxi
I don't know what they call their van cabs. It could be their wheelchair taxi, as wheelchair vans here have the ramp through a door at the rear into the cargo space.
Give them a call at 604-831-1111
or look on their web site .........

Re: Maxi Taxi in Vancouver
There isn't a Maxi Taxi equivalent. When they go to the taxi queue, there will be a staff person standing there, directing them to a taxi that will be able to handle all their luggage. Most taxi companies (i.e. Yellow Cab, Vancouver Taxi, Kimber Cabs, Blacktop & Checker Cabs, MacLure's, etc.) have a minivan in their fleet. They're fairly common at the airport. They may need to wait a few more minutes for one to show up, but they evidently do fairly quickly, and will often pick up passengers even when they don't require all that space. Will a minivan not be large enough?

https://www.yvr.ca/en/passengers/transportation/taxis
Lists all the taxi companies licensed to pick up at YVR, but generally if you just go to the Taxi line, a van will be available with limited wait most of the day.

Too late now, but another option would have been to hire a Modo, I've seen some parked around that are huge vans/SUVs.
