Lost my passport in Canada :(

Hi,

I lost my passport the other day a long with my SIN number and work permit that was offered by BUNAC. I've tried all the websites and the phone numbers and they are all useless!

Can anyone help?? I am in Banff/Calgary.

Thanks :((

This is likely a big deal, there could be another you around by now! Bad idea to keep passport and SIN together.

Call service Canada about the SIN, Call passport office about the passport, go to an immigration office and also let Bunac know about the work permit. Report the loss to local police

Thanks for replying.

I phoned the passport offices and they redirected me to the L0S1 Form. That's to report a lost/stolen passport but I now need a replacement form and they haven't helpful at all in helping me find it...

Does anyone know where I can find it?

Report the losses to the police, for a lot of this stuff you will likely need the report number.

You should also contact the credit agencies in canada to prevent someone using your SIN to get credit. Google Transunion and Equifax and follow the instructions. One is free, the other has a nominal charge for blocking credit, basically they put extra steps in place. Maybe not necessary anyway as its hard to secure credit on a 9xx SIN anyway....

I lost my wallet in Toronto, complete with SIN etc, and it was returned anonymously in the mail a few days later. I hope you are as lucky, maybe someone will send it to your emergency contact if you filled that bit in?

Of course, I still cancelled everything anyway...

I have lost/misplaced/stolen my passport the other night and dont know what to do?!I am currently in Banff and have a job up and coming at a ski resort near by and have 2 weeks until I actually start! No a great start to the season!
Anyway I lost my passport with my stapled working visa in it as well as my SIN number so all in all not good really.
What did you do and is it easy enough to sort out?
