Looking for a British trained doctor in Greater Toronto Area
Hi,
In a bit of an emergency with an injury here in Mississauga near Toronto - my whole life is on hold for 3 months. I'm from Finland and lived in the UK for 5 years too. I find both British and Finnish doctors very professional and accurate in their treatments and diagnosis. I am looking for a British doctor in greater Toronto Area. Does anyone know one? Would be ever so grateful.

Hi,
Been to 20 of them including ER, and been reading reviews online and in Mississauga only a few doctors out of over 1000 were rated by patients as working hard to find out what the problem is. And those ones are fully booked. Plus in my medical history in Finland and England I have been able to go to anyone anytime and have gotten the right medicine and treatment with injury and other things. Canadians are just not up to those standards.

When you say "British trained", do you mean "Indian trained"?
Whilst said slightly tongue in cheek, there is a significant portion of GP's in the UK who are neither British or British trained. The chances of you being treated by such a doctor are fairly high.
In other words, stop being so weird about it. If you have 20 doctors telling you the same thing... I'm surprised you came to the conclusion it is they who dont know what they're talking about.

Mine were natives in the UK. Has anyone had an injury treated successfully in Canada. Because they don't take pictures of the injury or prescribe the right medicine. Now they are about to be forced by the government to rise to scientific standards according to latest research when diagnosing as well as possibly mandating them to see their local patients, as there is evidence (by researchers) (government and the health minister knows) of them cherry picking healthiest patients and leaving patients that need the help the most, as they don't get paid more of more complex patients. 10 billion has been spent by the government to improve the system and these changes will be coming - just doesn't help me yet. So I'm looking for any chance of a good doctor. As we're busting our butts trying to look for a better doctor. We've read there are some GPs that always research their patients' problems. But always fully booked, as people have noticed they're better.
So looking for a good doctor before those changes in legislation are made, as the government and funded researchers are figuring out how they're gonna implement them to make sure health care improves.

An extra special patient in search of a 'Super-doctor' before said Doctor is exposed to the Ontario governments (legislation) equivalent to kryptonite......or just a troll?

I broke a rib last year and the Canadian/Chinese Dr was ace. Sorted me out all good and proper
I went back after popping my knee recently and saw another one and she (Canadian) was great too. Got me in touch with a great physio after taking xrays and giving me some meds and advice.

My wife had a compound fracture of the lower leg and ankle. She was lucky not to lose her foot and was told she'd never do active sport again. Now she skis and cycles. Her GP is South African, surgeon Canadian and physio Norwegian. The health service may not be perfect here, but it's acceptable for most needs.

Re: Looking for a British trained doctor in Greater Toronto Area
I had a British doctor when I first moved to Canada, he was the most arrogant, rude doctor I have ever been to, and after a year, I fired him and went several years with no doctor at all rather then go to that one.
Now I have a great doctor who is from So. Africa and is the complete opposite of the last doctor.
I've never had a problem with the care here for the most part, I dont see a need to get pills everytime I go.
Oh and my psychiatrist is from the UK, and she is just as arrogant, so I suppose based on these 2 doctors, I should avoid UK trained doctors as they are just not up to standards with bed side manner.
