Location, Location, Location!!!

A very well known phrase for most Brits in particular ... but I've always wondered, is this also important for people across Canada?

In other words, is a certain area of a certain city, a certain street or postcode a must for some people, or do you simply settle in the best overall area, which suits your needs, city/town structure and budget?
