No it's not for westcan haven't heard of that one till now, there's two that we know of Yanke and Kindersleys. Kindersleys are interviewing in October in England if you want some more info e-mail me and I'll get web site address. Be prepared for things to move fast though get all your paper work ready, especially the police checks as they can take up to 40 days. We are in contact with drivers that are working for Yanke and they seem to have looked after them well, so bit tied as to whether to go to both interviews or not.
All the best

Ooops!!!!

That wasn't meant to be minus 11 ---- it was just a dash -- like -!!!

Sorry about that. We have had a really crappy summer but it wasn't that bad. Actually, in some ways it was ok - I have loads of runner beans whereas normally its pretty hot and dry for them. So, if you're into runner bean growing, this year has been good!

I came across this website while doing an internet search for a florist for my May wedding in Saskatoon. I'm not quite sure how that happened. I lived in England for seven years and my fiancee and I moved back to Saskatoon in January of 2004. Saskatoon is a beautiful city. The only reason I've registered on this site is to say how totally appalled I am by comments made by a few posters on this messageboard about native people in Saskatchewan. Descriptions such as "teepee alley" are completely abhorent. It's comments like that that exacerbate stereotypes and encourage racial misunderstanding. British people look to this website for information about living in Canada. To prejudice them against native people, Canada's First Nations, is to do them, and those you are judging, a sad misservice.

Because there are probably more jobs in Calgary than the whole of Saskatchewan :) ? Particularly if you don't want to be a farmer.

Saskatoon is where I'll be heading unless my girlfriend moves in the meantime, but I've no idea what I'll be doing when I get there... can't see there being many IT or movie/TV jobs in the area.

I wonder if the people who started this thread even arrived and if they are having fun?

We have quite a thriving movie business in Regina. One opened earlier this year. I haven't seen it and to tell the truth, I can't remember the name of it. It was supposed to be set in New Jersey I believe. Someone will remember the name!

Yeah, I did see that there's some kind of movie studio in Regina. My girlfriend has applied for a job there, so maybe she'll get that one.

Kim,

White man's burden = white man's stupidity.
Humanity is a sad continuum of unlearning and redoing mistakes ad-nauseam.
The white man ravages, spoils, and poisons everything he gets his greedy paws on, like a swarm of locusts with Blackberrys.
Yeah, like a virus with bad sneakers, humanity infests this planet.

Rich.

Yeah, that's right: every problem on the planet is the fault of evil white males.

I didn't start the thread but arrived and lived in Saskatoon for a year. Don't know if I'd call that year 'fun' exactly but it wasn't a bad place to live. Interestingly we went for a walk down one of the main streets (20th, 22nd??) can't remember which and was approached by a number of native people each of them reaking of beer and asking for money. I felt very uncomfortable being stared at so much too so we walked back to the car and found a park. This isn't representative of Saskatoon and when we visited Toronto exactly the same thing happened when we took a stroll one night right in the heart of the city.

Whilst it wasn't the best place I've ever lived...it certainly isn't the worst either. The only problem I had was trying to find work. My neighbours told me that 'they' only want local's/ canadians and wouldn't take the trouble of even responding to anyone else. This may be due to my complete lack of any recognisable qualifications although I did bring 20ish years of references with me. Didn't help at all.

Males, females, shemales, whatever.

I was wrong - blame capitalism, globalization, and the New World Order.

Rich.
