Re: Living in the GTA
While this is certainly true, a large part of my backyard is flood plain.
Fortunately the house is not: it sits on it's own little Hill.

If you were going to one of a few western cities, Calgary, Winnipeg or Regina for example, then your concern to avoid flood plains would be more realistic. However, in the GTA, building on flood plains has been rigorously prohibited since Hurricane Hazel in 1954.
I'd look for something more realistic to worry about.

Thanks dbd33 for the hill names/places. The only reason I want to live n a hill is to avoid flooding damage and loss of personal items in our home. Do you know of any other hilly places???

I live on a small incline and got flooded about a month ago - nothing to do with rain. The Water softener was recharging early morning and the outlet got blocked and dumped all over my kitchen floor and basement.

As you know, I completely disagree with this. School districts would not be used in property adverts if they were not of great interest to potential purchasers.

There's also streaming in classes with all the smart kids together which benefits the smart. I don't know if this is standard and whether or not it happens in England.

Maybe they should? I've worked alongside co-op kids from two high schools, one school is miles ahead of the other.

As the recipient of a 11+ selected grammar school education myself I have no doubt about the benefit for the smart kids of streaming them all together.
