Little Britain

Little Britain (the tv series) - don't you just LOVE it? Am currently viewing the second series for work (it's part of my job, honest!).

Don't suppose there's any chance that it's carried on any of the satellite channels in canada?

The show that all ex-pats should watch, if they are home-sick!

Then they would get on with their new lives abroad, havin` been reminded why they ditched the UK forever, in the first place.

I love to watch "Little Britain" on BBC Canada, it makes me appreciate the fact that "I GOT OUT!"

We get sat' TV and so have access to gazillions of channels. Little Britain is the best thing on TV since the good old days of Morcombe and Wise.
Having lived in Canada for the past ten yrs I find it amazing what the BBC can 'get away with' !!!!! Its hilarious British comedy and far from making me glad the I am not living in the UK , it makes me appreciate the culture that I left behind to be here...a good night in in front of the 'telly' (that is such a cute word.) in Canada is The Royal Canadian Airfarce..it hurts just to watch the trailers. Cant wait to see more Little Brit and I want your job too please, maybe you need a transatlantic office.

I work part time for a TV station here in Ireland, previewing/vetting/checking progs that we have bought in. Anything from movies to cartoons to documentaries to crap American shows. I put in the commercial breaks, check for technical quality, occasionally edit stuff and write little storylines for the announcer! I have to admit it's quite a cushy number, but having come from a journalism and tv production background I actually find it quite boring.

But you know most tv stations would have to have people like me if you think about it - our station has 8.5 of us (I'm the half) -someone has to watch all the dross that goes out and make sure there's no sex before the watershed etc, so try applying to your local freindly station - you never know!!

SQ

PS Not planning to do this in Canada; seen enough tv to last a lifetime (apart from Little Britain of course).

You are going to be a refreshing poster to talk with, a person with some real inside knowledge on TV!

Here we have "Star Choice" Sat. TV.

We have noticed that some TV companies amongst other tricky practices, all for the benefit of their business and not the viewers comfort, for example - A movie starts, no comm. breaks for anything upto 20 min., then over the next two hours as one gets into it, the frequency of the comm. breaks becomes more rapid, to the point where I`ve seen in the last 20 min. of a movie, it`s been 3 min. of movie then 3 min. of commercials!

I love watching Little Britain and the Trailer Park Boys. TPB is usually on after 11pm on Paramount, so don't always stay up to watch it. One of my favourite episodes is "Conky" the one about Bubbles dummy that looks like a mini of him and liked to goad Ricky. Poor Conky ended up having his head blown clean off LOL.
