That's because they're playing the same records as in 83.

Yeah, but on Q107 you've got John Derringer in the morning and Kim Mitchell in the evening.

Or, hey!... do this.... a blessing or a curse of being hearing impaired, listen to your own thoughts,

I reckon the station only has 3 CD's as they play the same music all the time. My husband loves the station and listens to Derringer on a morning - I can't stand him and his sycophants especially that stupid guy who never knows the answers on the quiz, so always change to something else. It's sad really but can't seem to find anything to beat BBC Radio 2 (never used to believe I would ever say that).

I only hear it in the coffee shop when it's my turn to go, that's at about 12:45. Most days they're playing Stairway to Heaven or some cancon hair band like Honeymoon Suite. I haven't heard Mr Derringer, I imagine he's a dimwitted Limbaugh type person but probably not as right wing as the people on Z103.5.

You can get the BBC by internet or, if you want it in the car, by satellite. You might find NPR to be a good substitute though you'll have to get used to the jokes about Norwegians.

http://www.npr.org/

They have a raconteur called Garrison Keillor who has a show called The Prarie Home Companion; he tells stories of Minnesota, where he claims to live and where, but for him, the population is Nordic. I particularly like the tale of the man who climbed on to the roof to remove the ice and then couldn't admit to being stuck because a man of his heritage wouldn't be stuck, oh no. npr may be the only place in America where the quirks of Lutheranism are celebrated.

He writes some great books too: Lake Wobegone days....

Can be found lurking on the BBC from time to time.
