Lightshades?
Are lightbulb fittings the same size? I have a couple of lightshades bought in the UK just wanted to check if they will fit?
Thanks |
Re: Lightshades?
No. Most light fittings here take a screw-in light bulb.
If the lamp is important to you, or expensive, or an heirloom, or you just love it, then bring it here and switch over the fittings and the power cord. You can DIY that with a kit from Home Depot or Rona, etc, or you can get someone to do it for you. Otherwise, they have lamps here ranging from about $10 to $500 so your taste will probably be catered for. ;) |

Re: Lightshades?
Also bear in mind if the new energy saver bulbs (CFL's) will fit in your lampshades - very soon it is all you will be able to buy here as normal ones are generally going to be banned in January 2014.
(As of Jan. 1st next year, 75 and 100 watt incandescent bulbs will be effectively eliminated from store shelves, with 40 and 60 watt versions to follow Dec. 31st.) |
