Lethbridge Alberta

Hi, we are a family of five with a son of 18, two daughters 14 and 9. We moved from Leduc Alberta to Lethbridge four weeks ago and absolutely love it here. :)
Does anybody know if there are any Expat meet ups here?
We live on the south side and were wondering if anybody can tell me where the best schools are on the south side.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Whoop-up girl & Family:

Welcome to Lethbridge, glad to hear you are enjoying it here and your just in time for Whoop-up Days!. I can't answer your question about meet up's, lived here a long time so not involved in that, although I do know there are a lot of Brits in the area.

Schools, we live on the Southside (good choice!), there are catchment areas to schools (elementary and middle) so you will need to contact the school boards to see where you fall into to. There is the Public School Division - Lethbridge 51 or the Catholic School Division - Holy Spirit.

Our experience (current) is with the Public Division so can recommend Agnes Davidson for Elementary, Gilbert Paterson for Middle School and Lethbridge Collegiate Institute for High School. I have also heard good things about Lakeview Elementary (this and Agnes Davidson feed into Gilbert Paterson for Middle School). If your daughters are into dance, LCI has a fabulous dance program (no prior experience necessary).

If you have any other questions I would be happy to help.

Hello

I'm glad that you like it in Lethbridge, my whole family lives there, but I currently live in the UK. Both my younger cousins went to Fleetwood Bawdin Elementary School, and every teacher they had was fantastic, my one cousin is now at Gilbert Patterson Middle School. I wish you all the best in making Lethbridge your home.

Hi. Cant help you with the schools as we live on the north side so only have experience of Senator Buchannon which is also a great school.
I have 3 children 10 8 and 9 weeks and have been in Lethbridge for 4 years now and really do love living here.
Anything else I can help with just ask im currently on mat leave so have some time for coffee if you fancy a meet,im sure my 10 year old daughter would love to meet up with yours. Its a long school holiday here and it may stop her arguing with her bro for 10 mins.

Welcome to Lethbridge :)

x Ali

Just re-read your post if your youngest does end up at Fleetwood there is a chance that she may be in a class with my cousin as she is 9 as well.

Hello!

Thank-you for your posts. We hopefully have made a decision on the school front. We are sending the youngest to Lakeview Elementary she will be in grade 5, and our other daughter will be going into grade 10 at L.C.I .

Our son just graduated from high school,he wants to be a heavy Duty Mechanic but cant find a company to take him on has a Apprentice:(.

Thank-you Little Bear my little girl would love to play, it is so difficult when you are new to an area and dont know anybody. When is a good time for you? I'm a stay at home mum so I'm free most days. We could have a coffee and the kids can play on the trampoline. oh by the way congratulations on your new baby:D.

Thank-you once again!
