As a driving instructor in the UK and now driving 6000km per month in Canada believe me, learning to drive, passing the test and being able to drive are three totally different concepts

And to think you're happy to hand that lethal weapon over to your "child" !

Actually in BC you do. I came over with a learners permit (from Ireland, assume UK ones are treated the same) and I was able to take the N test straight away and I didn't have to attend driver school.

Same for me with a UK one.
