At Last
Finally received a letter today from our solicitors to say that they have now concluded a binding contract for the sale of our house.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
As Scottish law is different to English law and this is the first time we've sold a property in Scotland, I got them to confirm that YES I could book my flight and confirm removals dates as the sale should go through with no problems. :fingerscrossed: Only other scenario now is if the buyer pulls out, but they are penalised financially if they do so. I'm leaving 2 weeks before they move in, so any problems will need to be sorted before I leave or from Canada. After monitoring the flight prices from Glasgow to Calgary for the last few weks, I was pleasantly surprised to find flights with Air Canada for around £150 less than I was able to find last week. Flights are now booked, removals dates set, managed to pre cancel the house insurance with effect from the sale date (even the person at the insurance company wasn't aware that they had now started doing this ). So after Mandy being in Canada for 6 long months without me, I will finally be making use of my SOWP on 31st March. Kev |

Re: At Last
Thanks all for the congrats.:thumbsup:
Just need to sort out the last few things now in the 4 weeks I have left. Car insurance runs out in 2 weeks so car can go then, bits and pieces to dump, final few bits to try and sell or just dump, bits and pieces that our son is having. It's been a long time coming, but worth it in the end. Just need to sort out a car and job for me, then buy a house when the funds are free to transfer, then hopefully if Mandy can get a confirmed permanent job offer from work, we can finally apply for PR or AINP. We submitted a PR application to Sydney without the permanent job letter and it came back that everything checked okay apart from the missing letter. Here's hoping things start to progress soon. Then the wait begins again.:frown::frown::frown: But for now at least it's all smiles. :):):):):): |
