Landing - Vancouver Mailbox Query
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone's had any experience with renting a mailbox for forwarding PR card and SIN cards etc after landing? Does anyone have any suggestions as to which is best/safest. So far have heard of only UPS and Accutype.
Cheers
Ollie

Most Post Offices also rent mail boxes.

Thanks for all your replies! Was trying to find out about Canadapost, but their website was down all day yesterday. I've read on a previous thread that you need a mailbox with a suite or street address, rather than just a po box number. Does anyone know if Canadapost do this and whether they redirect mail? Will have a look at Mailboxes Etc, thanks.

Just wait until you have a permanent address to inform CIC of where to send the PR card. You dont need to give an address on landing.
Get your SIN card sent to whatever accommodation you have arranged on arrival. I had it sent to my work address, but the hotel would have been just as good.

Your SIN can just wait till you are ready to settle permanently.

Our PR card was sent to our PO Box. I just checked the paperwork that came with the Pr card as I thought maybe it was ok because they had the street address as well but the street address is not on any of the paperwork. We don't get Postal deliveries out here, everything has to go to the PO Box, the street address is no good.

Officially you need a PR card to get on the plane with a one way ticket to Canada.... in reality it all depends on who checks you in at the airport.

If you have a british passport, then you dont. Is that a simple enough summary
