As far as i recall, i didn't notice separate channels. Just head to the visitor queue and inform the Immigration Officer that you are here to activate your PR visa. They point you in the right direction.

Cool, thanks for that El Richo hopefully ours will be as quick
That said, we were sitting near the front of the plane and were one of the first off so i'm sure that helps too, if you can arrange it. |

Hopefully. We landed at around 3pm during the week and the place was very quiet.

Re: Landing??
I would strongly recommend: 'when in doubt, ASK'. We landed at Vancouver and were as much confused as we were jet lagged.
Clearly this is a trend amoungst long haul travellers, as the airport had considerately dispatched an army of helpful people to direct the discombobulated traveller appropriately. :D The last thing you want to do after flying all that way is to stand in a queue you needn't have to. As it was, our initial intent of joining the 'just vistiting' line up was diverted by the helpful army, who pointed us to a glass corridor which afforded us a bypass of the jet lagged throng (who enviously viewed our progression), directly to another smiling individual, who provided us with a welcome pack of brochures etc, and a seat as we awaited the (terrifying but ultimately painless) CIC officer interrogation. Basically, don't worry aboot it. |
Re: Landing??
May I also suggest that you hitch a ride with whatever those people are called who drive the little buggy doofers at Calgary airport....The sprogs and I did when we arrived in April because the walk would have been too much for the little one and we were one of the 1st in the queue at Immigration.....also make sure you tip them...I didn't think at the time and I felt awful afterwards :)

Re: Landing??
Hi there
Husband and I landed in April to activate - was a piece of cake. There is no seperate line in Calgary but when you speak to the first immigration officer tell them you are there to activate and they'll point you in the right direction. Took us all of 5 minutes there then 5 minutes with customs for goods to follow list. The more organised your paperwork is the easier it is. Good-luck and enjoy:thumbsup: |
