Landed Immigrant back in in "hope&Glory"

OK,

Landed, was there for 2 weeks.

Back now, trying to sort/finalise packing and house sale.

wife also 15 weeks prego :) our first , due October..
wife has a house/job/car etc

I found a few things out more....from whe I came.
and these are MY opionions but feel free to chime in

Not impressed with Air Canada, British Airways baby all the way... onlly flew AC due to the BA strikes, what a joke, level of Cust.servc. especially in buisness class was abismal, both on the plane and airside, seemed also the cabin crew lacked that British Warmth and hospitaitlity.

After I landed I then remembered what I liked about Canadian customer services, all the people at Pearsons, where great, Immigration lady was a cutie, Customs guy, was soooo helpfull.

Weather was fab, learned to drive Left Hand, thoes nice big roads, not getting cut up on the small side roads with barely enough space for a shopping trolley.

I will SOOOO miss Tesco's and proper food packaging info,, so hard to find the Cals, fat contant, sugar content.. Some are not even labelled.

Doctors surgery arent even on a par with the UK, my Doc and others I've seen here, are 100 times better as far as bedside manner and advise than the guys Ive seen there.

Loving the Petrol prices 91c's / litre

Water, pay by consumption... OOOPS

and car insurance wow....... expensive or what
but being a petrol head canada, has open my eyes to a whole new
manner of car porn :)

BTW check out...
oh oh canada (by Classified) wicked ... we love our beaver... hehehehe :)

like anywhere, looks like there are good and bad,

I believe in making the most the the system, putting in and not sitting back and expecting to be given, work hard, play hard.

any country where one group of people can break the law and not go to jail, where standard jo public will do, is going to have serious problems

well, holla up, chime in
I have a thick skin

How many doctors did you see in two weeks???

I disagree, the doctors I've seen here have been at least on par with the ones I saw in the UK, if not better....

Same as the UK - depends on the area/age of the house whether you have a water meter. Our house in the UK had a water meter - the difference is here we pay less to use said water....

I couldn't work out which parts of the OP's post were supposed to be praise and which were criticisms:huh:

hey dude/or dudette

several,

well the wife is pregnant so went with her to see her GP, and guy who did the ultra sound.

I apparently have Latent TB, so had a consultation with a doc and xray tech.
oh and had my teeth descaled, got it done on wifes medical cover.

so 4.5 :) , but agree all depends on what your used to,
as a Diabetic, my doctors, consultants Ive ever seen have been top notch.
but may be too early to tell, although wife said this is common attitude.

as an example one of the hospitals discharged her sister after a major RTA, with a couple of Tylnols, she was readmitted into ITC 12 hours later, with severe problems

ok water meter, sure I forgot some people in uk have it

sweeet

Good job you're getting PR via spousal route, as you'd be struggling somewhat to pass medicals with all that lot!

The large minority (30% perhaps) of people in Ontrio get their water straight out of the ground;) Of course, if your well or septic needs work then you pay handsomely for it, but many people here dont pay directly for water, its not all city living here;)

Congrats on your fecundity. Do you plan being back in Ontario for Offspring #1s arrival? Makes the paperwork easier than having to sponsor after the fact.

At the same time? Sounds potentially dangerous. Rather like when I dance!
