Landed, Currently in Brampton
Hello all, landed here (Brampton) 8 weeks ago, and getting familiar with the surroundings.
Kids are on school holidays, and I'm out looking for work!
Kind of finding it hard to network here in Brampton. Got to find get to those places, where it happens!!
Theres alot of construction going on, lots of new estates popping up all over the place. New communities.
Last week contemplated returning back to UK. But after talking with the wife, we'll stick it out. Need to get a job, as we don't (as most expats) want to eat into our savings. Got to persevere!!

Good luck, those first few months can be tough. You feel like you did all the hard work getting there and now, being away from everything you know it seems even harder!!
Just keep focused on the long term reasons you wanted to come here, this is a temporary stage. Every day you are learning new things that you know for next time, you need it.
Create some targets or goals that you want to achieve by certain dates. Make it realistic, and know why you must achieve it. Plan your actions and go for it. If getting a job is your goal, think outside the box and come up with some new ideas of how you can approach it.
You were able to survive the emigration part, so you know you have it in you to get through this final stage. Remember to have a bit of fun too, take a day off and enjoy the fact you have succeeded, you made your own luck and have achieved what so many others only dream of...
