Believe me, we are hiring on the spot - shops/restaurants are desperate - Admin posts a bit harder to get 'specially part time - I know thats why i'm in the hole I'm in and won't go until I find another job. I'm picky with the hours i want to work though!

Does this mean that people who have hospitality management/restaurant management skills who have applied under skilled worker category have a good chance of getting a visa if the hospitality trade is struggling for workers???

I understand that this category or workers does feature on the NOC website as a skill level trade.

Today I was speaking with a manager at Wal- Mart. I noticed that they were closing at 4pm instead of 8pm these days.
He told me he can't find enough employees to install tires and do oil changes. He also said that there is a Wal-Mart in Edmonton which only has one employee in the automobile department.
They are open Monday to Friday 8-4pm closed at lunchtime. Unbelieveable !!

'fraid not - irrespective of how "in demand" your particular profession is, if you don't qualify you won't get in, if you do qualify you will.

Having said that, if your profession is "in demand" you should find it easier to obtain a work permit which could get you over there quicker - can be risky though, so depends on your attitude to risk :scared:

Hmm, well bearing in mind Piff Poff's bit about admin being hard to get into, I am guessing then that my main profession - marketing/graphics - will be even more difficult I think I should jack it all in and become a boom operator LOL! If you need no experience in that area thn i'm their girl :D
