Kids forum?

Can anyone recommend any online forums that would appropriate for teens where my daughter could connect with other teens that have made the journey to Canada? Something to connect with others in Canada, that can bridge the gap somewhat for a sociable teen looking forward to the move, but would like to connect beforehand, and be able to ask questions important to them. Like here, but for younger people.
Any thoughts?

My teens wouldn’t use a forum. Ditto Facebook (also ‘for old people’ apparently), Telegram, WhatsApp and Instagram would be their methods of connecting with others. They did that before heading to uni to find people in their accommodation blocks and it worked well I think. Have a look at MeetUp too.

Good luck.

Many MANY years ago we did have a kids forum on here, don't know if you remember it? It was a pain in that it needed pre-moderating which would be even more of a nightmare these days, and although teenagers did occasionally post about moving, mainly with school worries, it was very sparsely used..

Add Snapchat, TikTok, Discord to the list. I get the feeling WhatsApp is considered old person territory too these days, more young people gravitate to Discord.

Oh I have a vague recollection now you've said that. I think it was got rid of before my time as a mod though, or may just after I became one.

Its certainly a good few years ago, think Sue was still at the helm, and it simply wasn't used, so it got dumped!

Are you relocating with an employer or joining a new company? If so, might be worth reaching out to your employer to see if they have any kind of buddy network or colleagues with children of a similar age that might be willing to connect?

There's lots of resources once you/they arrive in Canada.
