Kamloops to Sun Peaks...
Does anyone know how long this drive usually takes? Google Maps says 1hr 10 mins but Kamloops tourism and Sun Peaks info says 45 mins....need to know if it is commutable or not?
Might be applying for job at Delta Resort but from what i can see there aren't many places to live aside from very, very rural areas or Kamloops! Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Lindsey x |

Re: Kamloops to Sun Peaks...
Depends on which part of town you're driving from, but I'd say 45-50 minutes is a reasonable estimate.
Some folk commute there, and if that's what you'd like to do I'd look at Rayleigh, Heffley Creek or Whitecroft for the easiest (shortest) journeys. Rayleigh is roughly mid way between Kamloops and Sun Peaks and a reasonable sized community with moderate house prices, so probably the best option for a family. A colleague of mine commuted from Sun Peaks into Kamloops each day for a year and got fed up with it - lovely drive in good weather, and the roads are kept well ploughed, but there were always a day or two each week in the winter that weren't much fun and could take well over an hour. Sun Peaks itself recently voted to become a municipality, so over time will grow to provide more amenities than currently there if you fancy year round resort living. The Delta's the nicest of the hotels, best of luck with the job application. |

Brilliant, it sound feasible then, even if it's just for a couple of years

Re: Kamloops to Sun Peaks...
oh, i never thought of that! There won't be any nights but there will probably be evenings. Not sure how it works over there for Managers in Hotels?! Here, i only ever worked evenings if we were short staffed or if it was our turn as Duty Manager.
Will check all of this before I send app i think! Thanks again Lindsey |
