..also i have found since we have been we are constantly ill with colds and stomach bugs..i went years with no throwing up...had the odd cold but nothing compared to the illness we have all had here in 18 months...just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same

You can get nausea and vomiting with influenza.
BTW the flu is not a cold with a temperature. The two are caused by different types of viruses. Colds are rarely serious.
Sounds like you have had a bad time with bugs since you have been here. Thinking back we were pretty unhealthy the first year or so. I reckon it's a combination of stress and new bugs to deal with. The stress making you more susceptible to the bugs

We had a similar problem when we moved from Canada to Australia. We found that in the first year we had all sorts of colds, flus and various illnesses. I think it has more to do differences in the viruses and getting your immune system built up again.
But yes, the same thing happened to us when we moved overseas.

We arrived in Dec 07 - Alison was dreadfully ill for over 3 months with A "flu", just didn't have the immunity to fight it, several trips to the hospital and eventually it drifted off - Only to be replaced a month later with another illness "the bug" and so it went on for well over a year.
Our take on it is, a different set of viruses that we (from the UK) have not got immunity. and so a slight sniffle turns into something more serious.

Sometimes it can be the change in water, or different foods.
When we moved to the US I couldn't drink the water without getting ill, and didn't want to after the kind Doctor explained it's origins!!
