just curious

Hey Guys!
On what basis does an immigration officer decide if an interview is required. Thanks.

Re: just curious

Interview under current law is an integral part of entire process and is required by
default. Interview waiver is only the exemption granted if processing officer
determines that s/he can make final decision without interview - when the application
package is not only well prepared, complete and well presented but also when there is
nothing left for interpretation, verification or clarification, when there is no need
to assess language skills or work experience in claimed occupation during the
interview, etc.

There is no magic mathematical formula on which decision about interview waiver is
based and number of points scored has no much relevance here - overall application
package preparation, strong and complete presentation of your qualifications, skills
and abilities, clearly and beyond any doubts supported by documents is the key.
