IT jobs in the east - NL, NS, NB etc....
Hi friends,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of recruiting to the lovely more 'rural' areas of Canada such as Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and finding work in the IT industry?
My hubbie is an IT programmer (.NET if that means anything to those reading) and I work in recruitment and have done sales all of my career, so probably easier for me to find work anywhere (I hope!)
We originally thought of Vancouver, GTA, and Ottawa - but since we like to be a little different (and awkward) are now looking at being more adventurous in our search for a new life.
Any advice greatly appreciated

I am an IT programmer (also .Net) and I am currently working here in Fredericton on a TWP. A contact here on BE actually send me the job link (thanks Dave ) in December last year, I applied for the job through career beacon, had the interviews in January this year and started at the end of March!!! Because of the type of work I do I was LMO excempt through the IT specialist program so just picked up the twp at the airport. Fredericton is actually quite an IT hub (don't laugh!!) there are quite a lot of IT companies here and also RIM will be here in the new year.
For jobs, I would check out career beacon or nbjobs.ca (which just takes you to the NB specific bit of career beacon).
Hope this helps,
Sinead

We love it here in Fredericton, its a small city which we love and there is plenty going on. Check out our website here - still trying to update it but it might give you an idea of the place
We're from Northern Ireland.
All the best,

Careerbeacon.com is a good place to start job hunting for Atlantic/Maritime Canada. A clicky on the 'IT' jobs menu gives quite a list of positions.... http://www.careerbeacon.com/search/en/1/-1/62/-1
