:confused:Hi all,
Has anybody been to a job seminar in either london or huddersfield?. The company who wants me to attend and have offered me a job are called jos in b.c. They supposedly act for Clairmont mechanical services in Surry b.c. Has anybody recieved a job offer from them offering fast track PR as well?? Any help guys???:huh: |
Re: Job seminar in the uk!
Hi yes we have had a similar proposal with a seminar in London on the 16th Feb, the company is Pomeroy and the job is through ********@telus.net. Peter Walker is the M.D.
We have excepted a place at the seminar and I have been doing some investigation about the agency and don't seem to be able to come up with very much. He can be contacted by 'phone between certain hours Monday to Friday. my question is why are they charging so much for the work permit and extra to secure the job, I have never heard of that before, but I am very new to this. Trying to play detective IN CASE. |
Re: Job seminar in the uk!
Hi again,
I have rung up the company that the agent represents and he has confirmed that he has worked with him for about 2 years. He said he did not know how the agent went about getting the workforce. As I mentioned that my husband saw it in a national paper. I also asked if my husband could submit his resume direct and he said yes, he is a carpenter by the way. |
Re: Job seminar in the uk!
Hi there.
Thanks for replying. I spoke to a guy called Warren green who is a emigration guy for alberta, very nice and knowlegble, He said that the wage he was offering for a plumber was $25 per hr and that was nearly $10 per hr less than the average plumber in b.c. So my gripe is that he is charging £325 for getting you the job then he wants to pay you £5 per hr less ,whats probably going in his pocket as well as what he is charging Clairmont Mechanical per hour. I know what hes doing but its probably the easiest way into canada!! I think i will try my way and stick to my guns and head for Peterborough Ontario. Let me know what you think. Regards. Nigel |

Nigel Re the above highlighted bit of your previous post. Anyone who is using an agency to get over in Canada with a TWP should be wary if the hourly pay is not up to scratch for the area then HRDSC (the equivalent to the UK Dept of employment) will not approve a LMO for you to be granted a TWP. This is a word of warning for any newbies as money paid to agencies would be a waste ! Gaynor x |
Re: Job seminar in the uk!
I posed this question to the agency...
just a question in regard to fees etc; The fee for a temporary work permit is I believe $150 and therefore there is $500 left over, you say in your paper work that there is no charge for securing employment but elsewhere it says... (inc. securing you a job in Canada) This is confusing and would you be kind enough to explain the discrepancy on this matter and what it indeed covers. The reply was... OUR fee for securing you a work permit confirmation is $650 ( or 325 Pounds). Unfortunately, we cannot work for free. You need this work permit in order to take-up employment in Canada. On arrival at YVR, issuance of the actual work permit by Immigration Canada will cost you $150. Hope this clears your confusion. ..... |
