Job Hunting Online?
I am looking for work in Nova Scotia and am currently using the following sites:
Monster
Career Beacon
JobBank
Can anyone suggest any other avenues? I've done the whole dropping CV thing on-location thing, so am now looking at online activity.

Re: Job Hunting Online?
What are you qualified to do?
Online work search does have some success and shouldn't be ruled out but bear in mind that most job searchers are using this medium. Most jobs are 'underground' and not advertised... this means that anybody calling and connecting with a company who maybe thinking about hiring but isn't advertising has them all to them selves and they won't be sharing with all the other job searchers. it's the 80-20 rule. 80% of jobs are unadvertised and only 20% of folks look in this area... that means 80% of people who search on line or in the papers are looking at 20% of the jobs!
The best way to find work is to network. This can be done by joining groups, volunteering at organizations you would like to work with or information interviews. Labour market research will tell you what businesses to target. There are links to these statistics on each provinces Job Bank or service Canada website.
The other thing to remember is follow up on your work search. Don't be afraid to contact employers again and again to see if they are interested... remember that sometimes it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease!
Good luck
