Job frustration

I am totally frustrated about jobs at the moment as I am still waiting on my PR and can not apply for jobs in Canada yet. Another thing that is annoying is I am currently in London and have had agencies ring me in regards to perm jobs. I have had to say no since I should be heading over to Canada next week for a few months or so. I just don't know what to do, I feel stuck in the middle. I do not like staying out of work too long and with the recession I feel even more panicked. Is there any point trying to go to companies in Canada directly to try and line up potential jobs? I dont know how successful this will be right now. I have seen quite a few jobs on Workopolis I can actually go for but know I can not do anything.

It is difficult from overseas. Why not keep sending your resume to the various employment agencies, explain your situation, and at least lay down some ground work for when you arrive and hopefully you will find a job that much faster. At least with an agency, you will have someone working on your behalf (hopefully) over here and you have established a contact. Many jobs are filled only through agencies.

Thanks for your advice John. I have been lucky enough to have my PR granted now. So I will be updating my CV to a resume and will start to send out applications over the next coming weeks.
