Job,exam,HELP!!!!
 

Hi everyone going over to Canada (Toronto) in July for a couple of job interviews and to take the certification exam and hopefully pass my Truck and coach mechanics licence(fingers crossed).
If anyone can give my some idea of what to expect at the exam that would be great. :) :) :) :)
Also should I dress formal or smart casual (bearing in mind I'm a mechanic)for my interviews??

Came back on Saturday from Canada.

I personally think that you should make the effort to dress formal at any potential job interviews

I recently attended 2 interviews in fabrication shops as I am going back to my trade as a welder and was successful in obtaining the 2 jobs, had to accept one !!!!!

I think it puts a good impression on any future employer that you have at least made a valuable effort by turning up dressed smartly

I wore a shirt and tie and dress trousers, or pants as they are called over in Canada.
I think that first impressions stick in the mind of employers

So go formal, shirt and tie, dress trousers and you will make a good impression from the start.
I wanted to take my tin flute ( suit ) but was scared it would get crushed in my suitcase, so opted for shirt and tie and dress pants !!!!!!

I was going to sit the Red Seal exam for welding, but opted out as it was total information overload and I did not have enough time to study for it, but I will sit it once I am settled over the big pond

Sorry cannot help you with the journeymans exam for a mechanic, although I believe it lasts about 3 hours !!
