Apologies for ressurecting an old thread, but it seemed to be the only one I could find that was relevant...

We're probably emigrating in January 08, and I've got a couple of ISAs. The interest/tax issue seems clear enough from a couple of posts below, but does anyone know if this is the same if you have index-linked savings certificates? Again, they're tax-free for UK purposes, although I'm not sure when the interest on these is credited as I don't think you get a statement as such from them...

As it is, I suspect even with having to pay (Canadian) tax on interest for the above, it'll still be worth keeping those investments in place as the net return still looks fairly good compared to Canadian interest rates in general... does this sound about right?

Funny you should say that..... was looking at SUV's yesterday and saw a Hummer for $23K, alas it was bright yellow, a bit too bling for my tastes....
