Inventory question
Maybe this is a silly question, but when preparing an inventory of personal belongings for the immigration officer, how specific do you have to be? Do you have to list each e.g. book, video individually, or can you just group them together i.e. 100 videos, 2000 books?

Hi When I did ours I labelled each box - box 1, box 2 etc etc and then I put for example box 1 = 100 videos, box 2 = 30 books and so on. That way I knew how many boxes I had. I gave immigration a copy of the paperwork and the shippers and kept one myself and we didn't have any problems with anything going missing and immigration let us through without any delays etc. I think the more detailed you are, as much as it is a pain, then they leave you alone. I have heard that if you are a bit vague with all inventory then they are more likely to look in your stuff! JJ JJ |
