Interview at NYC Consulate

Referring to your situation(Interview at NYC Consulate ), although I cannot provide any info. about your query as I am in same boat. I also got the interview fixed at NY but no exact time given (a rough figure given of 7 10 months). I just wanted to know, after how much time did you get letter to attend the interview after you get the intial assesment papers. Also have you also been asked to go for medicals before going for interview and have you done with your medicals and if yes then can you share what are they do in medicals. I am also going after the collection of information about what kind of interview we should expect. I will share with you. Thanks, PRAD |

I am sorry, I am not clear with your reply. I would geartly appreciate if you could share about the months names and year of your events : Applied On -> AOR date -> Initial Assesment date-> Interview Letter Date-> Medicals (Y/N) -> What Next ? ?????? -> ??????? -> ????????????? -> ?????????? -> Y/N ? -> Next ???? Thanks a lot, PRAD :) |
Balaji,
I suggest you go thru' ur copy of the application & note down(prepare a list) anything that you may find lacking .... like, documentation support & anything that you could't provide/answer properly. Ex: If you do not have the minimum amount of funds, then try to find an expaination for that! They may even ask you basic questions like where do you live? What you do? ........ 'What you said to them' has to match with 'What is in your application'. This is the time for you to accumulate all the doc support for your application, if you missed something earlier. As far as possible do not lie to them. You can answer confidently how you can overcome such a thing........show doc. proof...Etc., Hope this helps. Pl. go to "Buffalo timeline' topic & update your times. Thanks. ~Raghu |
Raghu,
Thanks for your useful info. PRAD |
Hope this helps -
Hi,
I just read this thread and thought that I could help. I just had my interview at the NY consulate recently. I got a letter of confirmation for interview on the 20th of Aug 2002 and the interview was in begining of Nov. The interview was very simple and the officer was extremely understanding and not at all tough. IT was a lady officer. She initially asked me what occupation I would like to be interviewed under as I had listed more than one intended occupation. Then asked me about my current job in US what I am doing what re my resposibilities. Then asked me about the proof of funds. Then about the FBI clearance and she took an English fluency test. That was it. Just be careful to take all your documents related to your job and previous jobs you have done. like H1 approval notices, offer letter from the employer, pay stub and definately take time to practice talking about your job responsibilities. Hope this helps all of you out there. Take care. |
ooooooooops! Sorry guys just wanted to post my timeline - I applied to Buffalo in June if 2001. I got my Medical xam papers in Nov 2001 After that my file was transfered to NY city in early Dec 2001. After that I heard from the consulate asking for my interview on Aug 2002 and the interview was scheduled for Nov 2002.
Sorry for not posting this in my earlier post. Take care. |
