Hey. Can you carry 2 weeks shopping home from the shops for 4 easily? I doubt it?
Wouldn't it be easier to have essentials delivered often , 'free' from supermarkets. Less expensive than local shops, saving on petrol costs, making more free time to enjoy leisure activities, ability to shop 24/7 ? Enviromentally, supermarket delivery vans carry 30 + customers shopping.
When we see a neighbors supermarket delivery van we think they are a sensible, organised, upstanding family, whether its Tesco, Asda, Harrods van or the Canadian equivalent!!!!

Some shops are just too ghastly to go in, but can save rather a lot of money. Hence Internet shopping is fab for that. However for food shopping I agree with dbd33, nothing beats actually seeing and choosing what you're buying!

I agree with you for fresh fruit and veg, meat etc. But for tins, household cleaning items, frozen food, washing powder, nappies etc I find it useful.

All in all this is a pointless argument since there really isn't such a service here. The way to get that stuff is bulk buy it at Costco.
