Hello all,
I'm trying to find out (approximatly) how much and long it would take for a 40' shipping container to go from UK to Ontario.
Also other than monster.ca and workopolis.com are there any other good websites for jobs in engineering.
Thanks,
Paddy

Hi, paddy700d, and welcome to the BE forum.
I suggest you read the Job Websites section of the BE Wiki article entitled Finding Job Opportunities.
If you're a degreed engineer, I also would recommend that you contact Placement Agencies (head hunters).
Job websites and head hunters are by no means the only source of information on vacancies (although I certainly would include them in my mix of job hunting approaches).
To understand what I'm saying, you probably need to go back to the beginning and read the entire series of Wiki articles about Job Hunting in Canada.
As you'll see, networking is an important part of the job hunting process.
In addition to that, it's a good idea to convert your British-style CV into a Canadian-style resume.
These topics and more are covered in the articles in question.
Also, please read the Wiki called Tips on using the forum.
Many thanks, and Happy New Year.

I've just seen in another thread that you are a CNC machinist. Please read the Wiki article called Equivalency of Qualifications. It's one of the articles in the series on Job Hunting in Canada.

Hello Paddy
If you do a search - look for the orange bar at the top of this page, you'll find loads of info re shippers. Also if you Google international shippers, you'll find plenty who will come to your house and do a free assessment.
Good luck....

Transit time Uk - Ontario approx 4 weeks for a container. (Seafreight to Montreal and truck from there.) Note that this would be for a Full Container Load (FCL) shipment. If you are shgaring a container (Less than Container Load - LCL) then there is likely to be some additional leadtime for consolidation/deconsolidation at either end.
