International Post
Is there any reason post seems to be taking an age for overseas air mail from uk to ca?
We are on a month plus for a couple of packages we are waiting for. Last month I had 2 parcels sent from the same place/date and one arrived on 18/2 and other not until last week.
None of it is tracked as not valuable but annoying to say the least (I want my dairy milk!!)

It has to go via Canada Post and they're useless (or a shining example of a cost efficient organization, depending on your politics). I would not count on anything entrusted to Canada Post arriving.

Re: International Post
I don't think we need to consider any establishment as "efficient" in this country - it's my biggest irritant currently.
I find it incredulous that Royal Mail continue to advertise it as 5-7days, maybe it's a misprint and should be 57! The one parcel sent signed for was delivered right on schedule.
Just another thing I need to accept and add to my irritant list I guess.

It is 5-7 days for Royal Mail's part of the process (if that) - but once it gets to Canada it's in Canada Post's hands, and that's where it all goes wrong! If you did pay for a tracked service, you'd be astonished at how quickly it gets to Canada and then how incredibly slowly it can transfer across country.

Re: International Post
Probably stuck in Canada Post hell.
Afterall it takes them over a week to get a simple letter from Chilliwack to Squamish and its not even 200kms.
Ive waited 10 to 12 days just to get a parcel from Toronto.
Between CBSA delays for arriving mail and Canada Post general inefficiency just getting the parcel is good.
I got letter mail last week postmarked Feb 18th. Where did it go for almost a month?
A friend 2 weeks ago was waiting on a letter sent xpress post from Montreal. Took 4 or 5 days just to leave Montreal.
If you live close to the border better to use a parcel receiving company on the US side to receive and when sending items overseas.
CTV in Vancouver last month did a report on Canada Post vs USPS for sending a small parcel to France.

I receive a lot of post from the UK due to the nature of my job and I can say that there is no rhyme or reason on how long the post can take to reach here from the UK.
I have had letters received in just over a week and other mail take 4-5 weeks. The inconsistency is very annoying.
On average I would say expect 2-3 weeks to receive a letter from the U.K

I continue to be mystified by this.
I'm not a great mail user but the half a dozen things I get each year from the UK all arrive in a few days.
You must all be having suspicious looking items sent or you're all on a government watch list or something.

A fellow Brit here i now use to haul Canada Mail from GTA to Vancouver, He ran team with another driver so that truck only stopped to fuel up etc, none stop between the two cities. Even he was dumbfounded as to why it takes a letter or parcel so long to arrive ? They must just leave the stuff in the sorting building and eventually remember to load it on a trailer and send it to its destination city !

I have a parcel coming from GTA, according to the Canada post tracker they got it on the 22nd and I should expect it on the 30th. Although according to the tracker it hasn't left the GTA yet.

Here in the Philippines , PhilPost is completely useless! Incoming mail from UK often gets to Manila in 5/6 days - stamped at overseas mail office, Manila. It then takes anything up to 3 weeks to get a further 350miles to Cebu. Then you have to know somethings coming otherwise it'll just sit at the local office - no door to door deliveries here! Going to Uk is a little better, regular mail takes around 2/3 weeks. However, many small packages never arrive - especially if they look like they contain "items of interest" , of interest that is to the mail handlers. My BIL sent us a small package last November using regular airmail - it's never arrived , and never will! The only safe way is to use couriers. We use them to send any important mail even locally - it's quite cheap at around $5 for 24 hour delivery. Sending to the UK , just documents, is around $45 but it gets there, tracked all the way in 4 days. I just sent one last Monday afternoon and it was delivered to my UK friend on Thursday morning.
