Insuring a Class C Motorhome

Hello my wife and I are planning a road trip next year around the states. We currrently have a camperised GMC safari van with a pop up roof. Its great for weeks away but we think for a long road trip we need something bigger.

We have found a neat Class C motorhome, which we are keen to buy but I've been trying to get insurance for it and my limited driving experience in Canada (1 year) is not enough for insurance companies to even offer me any.

We have been living in Calgary for over a year now.

My wife is Canadian and she can get insured but even with me as a second driver its been a big no so far.

The Insurance company I have my truck insured with don't do rv insurance. I tried that first trying to insure it a second vehicle.

I've had my driving licence for 14 years and I've brought proof of my no-claims from previous insurance companies from the uk (4 years + 1 year canadian).

But I'm still finding it impossible! has anyone experience with this sort of situation?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

I'm sure RV sales centres know of insurance companies that insure such vehicles.
